In September 2019, I joined Sun Life Financial in Hong Kong as a Client Experience and Digital Intern. At Sun Life Financial HK, I supported the senior UX designers to carry out the end to end User Centred Design solutions. At my role, I collaborated with developers, product managers, marketing team, stakeholders and other designers to execute design decisions for the end users product.
Due to confidentiality on the projects I worked on, I am unable to disclose details regarding my work. However, I would be more than happy to sit down and talk with you about my experiences and takeaways from this internship in-person or at an interview!
This was my first UX internship and I was thankful for the opportunity to work abroad in Hong Kong. Through my internship at Sun Life Financial Hong Kong, it has solidified my passion for creating meaningful products, and the process was rewarding to see the impacts it made. One of the most important lessons I learned at Sun Life Financial Hong Kong is the importance of communication. For each assignment, I collaborated with the different individuals from various departments, such as Digital Transformation, Marketing and the Development team. Effective communication is key to maintaining performance and efficiency, I learnt to reach out to my colleagues for help. As a result, I understand collaboration sparks inspiration and that it helps with improving project quality.
